Jazz Fest
Looking to take an extended weekend trip to Jazz-fest in N.O. with the guys, any suggestions?
Suggestions for lodging, 1st or 2nd weekend, or a better suggestion for a group of buddies(6-12, age 30's)
There are no hotels close to the JazzFest site at the Fairgrounds, and it is not within walking distance of downtown.
Best is to stay in the French Quarter, Central Business District, or Warehouse District (the Convention Center is in the Warehouse district).
DON'T try to park around the Fairgrounds - the parking regulations are Byzantine and there are lots of Parking Control Agents. Take a taxi or a shuttle: Many hotels offer a shuttle and the Regional Transit Authority has a shuttle to the Fairgrounds.
Check the travel sites like Expedia & Travelocity, and also check the hotel websites. Go to www.frenchquarterhotels.com for some non-chain properties in the FQ.
