Patti Smith
Has anyone ever heard the Patti Smith version of East Side Story?
This song was originaly done by Bob Seger ( and the last heard), in the late 60's.
I heard the Patti Smith version on the radio in 1978ish, but was never able to find it on an album.
She did such an excelent cover.
Can you help me find this rare clasic?
OK, I wonder if maybe it was Fred Sonic Smith band cover that maybe she did a guest vocals for.

There is a website that lists the setlists of most of Patti Smith's gigs - http://setlists.pattismithlogbook.info/ - but no sign there that she has ever covered a Bob Seger song. So perhaps it wasn't Patti Smith? There's a longist list of cover versions of Bob Seger songs here - http://www.spiritone.com/~sparling/songinfo.html - but no mention of Patti Smith.
