How much of an influence do you think drugs were on the Beatles' music?
Do you think there music would've been as good if they hadn't taken drugs?
Everytime I say something about the Beatles to my friends, they say "Wow, the only reason they wrote that song is because they were on drugs". I disagree that every song they wrote was because of drugs or was about drugs.
I mean, when Paul was young, he wrote "I lost my little girl" and that was way before he was introduced to drugs. I think that shows that drugs didn't have much of an influence on their song writing ability.
What do you guys think? No trolling please 
The Beatles were on drugs throughout their work as Beatles. It was the 60s and drugs were part of the culture.
The drug period was not limited to Sgt Pepper. They took amphetamines in Germany and they were still on them when they made their first albums. Then Bob Dylan got them smoking pot. A dentist introduced John and George to LSD. Yoko got John on heroine. So drugs went on in some form throughout the entire Beatles career.
