When the Chicago Bears played at Memorial Stadium in 2003, was alcohol served?
At work we were talking about this- it is a college stadium, yet the Bears are a pro football team. Does anyone remember from the 2002 stadium at Memorial Stadium in Champaign if alcohol was served?
I'm an Illinois alum, Illini season ticket holder, and for 2002 I shared season Bears tickets for the season they played in Champaign while Soldier Field was being renovated. Did they serve alcohol at Bears games? Yes. The state of Illinois had to amend some state statutes to allow it, the University had to change some policies for it, and Champaign had to amend some ordinances. But they managed to pull it off. That said, the beer stands were all temporary, and were taken out for Illini games (which made for quite a bit of work I suppose on weekends they both played in Champaign).
