Original Snapshot
Is it legal to have a snapshot on my blog?
I want to add pictures to my blog. from the web.. the picture itself is a link and when you hover over the picture it gives you a snapshot of the original webpage it was taken from. is this legal, just like posting a link to a webpage? could this violate copyright laws?
As long as you give the person who 'made' the image credit you can probably do it.
But you have to be careful, a lot of the images that I design myself, I state in my website that I will allow people to use them for personal or home use only, but they can not alter,re-distribute or sell them and I want credit for my image.
Check with the website the image is on and see what they say that you can do with the image.
If in doubt email the person if you can.
Better to be safe than sorry and be sued for copyright violation later.
