Black Flag
why do american soldiers or marines sometimes have a backward black flag patch?
I seen it in a few movies its a black american flag thats backwards

the reason its a gray/black is because when your looking threw you night goggles (nvg) it acts as a reflective. its for use in a war zone. so when you look threw your nvg's you can see who friendlies an whose not. there's also a tab that is on the sleeve that shows up.. so when you see someone with that on their uniform.. just say thanks, an welcome back..
