Guitar Pick
When do I use a guitar pick and when do I use my fingers?
I'm just learning a few basic chords on an acoustic guitar right now, but I'm wondering when do people use a guitar pick and when do they stick with their fingers?
It all depends on what type of style you'd like to play.
Using your fingers is a lot more versatile for individually picking, mostly used for classical guitar.
It also just gives a softer sound when strumming than the pick.
Using a guitar pick is very good for picking and strumming but it gives a much brighter sound when strumming. It also tends to make the noise a lot louder than your fingertips, (since your fingertips are soft). It all depends on what you want and what you're more comfortable doing.
