Tips on how to keep my hair straightener in great shape?
hi i just bought a new Solia straightener and it was $88 so i wanna make sure it will stay in good shape and last for atleast over a year..hopefully more than one. what are some ways to keep it in great condition to ensure it wont break or get damaged?
My suggestion is to avoid using gels, hair sprays, or wet hair ( even if its a wet to dry straightener ) on it. Doing that will make the heated places on the straightener all textured like sandpaper and it will split your hair.
Clean your hair straightener after usage by the end of the day. Un-plugged, most definitely. Wipes that aren't soaked in the cleaner, like wet ones, will clean off the hair product residue and the dead hair.
Consider buying a mat to lay your straightener down when its not being used so the hair straightener doesn't pickup on any bacteria or germs. Also keep it in a place you know it'll be safe, but quick to find. Like a cabinet under the sink.
