Old Enamel

Hi, how do I put just a clear coat of enamel on an old cast iron claw foot tub?

I stupidly used this really abrasive cleaning chemical (The Works) on my neighbors antique cast iron claw foot tub. They could potentially get kicked out if the landlord finds out about this. We got this stuff at home depot to put new enamel on it but you cant use just the clear coat, it must be mixed with the white part. So if we did the bottom of the tub (the only part with the enamel stripped) it would be paper white while the rest of the tub would be off white, no good. All we need is some kind of clear coat enamel, where can I buy this?, cheaply as possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This is not a DIY. ANYTHINg you try will make the problem worse. Either tell the landlord what you did, and hire a professional, or leave it alone and pay when you move.

If you "paint" on enamel, you're only making the repair more costly.
